SERIAN: A proposed bazaar (tamu) in Teng Bukap is among three delayed projects in the constituency being revisited following a site inspection by Serian District Council (SDC) Chairman, Datuk Peter Minos, today.

The other two projects, located in Kampung Pesang and Kampung Panchor Dayak, are tourism-related initiatives.

Minos said all three were previously approved and funded by the government but have yet to get off the ground.

“The projects were recommended by local assemblyman, Datuk Seri Roland Sagah Wee Inn, and approved by the Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA).

“SDC was given the responsibility to implement the projects,” he said in a statement.

Minos, who was accompanied by SDC councillors during the visit, acknowledged the concerns raised by residents over the long wait.

“The villagers have waited patiently, but they’re understandably frustrated and want to see progress. I told them I will follow up immediately,” he said.

He also called on relevant agencies to improve delivery and avoid further delays.

“People are tired of excuses. Departments responsible need to step up,” he added.

Minos assured that he would continue visiting project sites and engaging with affected communities to help move stalled initiatives forward.

“It is not fair for villagers to keep waiting. Their patience has limits,” he said.
