SIBURAN: A total of 38 projects under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP), involving an overall allocation of RM5 million, have been approved for the Tarat Constituency, further strengthening the rural development agenda in the area.

The official project approval letters were presented to 38 recipients representing various Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) during a ceremony in Tapah, Siburan, officiated by the Sarawak Minister for Education, Innovation, and Talent Development, Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn.

In his speech, he emphasised that the approval of these projects demonstrates the state government's continuous commitment to ensuring that rural development is implemented comprehensively and inclusively, providing a direct impact on the people.

According to him, the approved projects encompass upgrading works, repairs, and the new construction of public facilities and basic infrastructure essential to the local residents.

Dato Sri Roland Sagah, who is also Tarat Assemblyman, revealed that key projects include the upgrading of JKKK operations rooms, community centers, and village halls in several locations, including Kampung Senah Rayang, Kampung Pesa, Kampung Gayu, Kampung Subang, Kampung Patung, and Kampung Simpok.

Additionally, new construction projects involve an agricultural store in Kampung Chupak, a community cooking hut in Kampung Stabut, a village hall in Kampung Plaman Toop (Phase 2), and a rest house in Kampung Stabut.

Also approved were projects to upgrade mosques, cemeteries, recreational parks, football fields, drainage systems, and village roads in other areas, including Kampung Darul Islam Belimbing, Kampung Pesang, Kampung Rudan, Kampung Sinjok, Kampung Plaman Payang, and Kampung Baru Mawang.

The implementation of these 38 projects is expected to provide widespread benefits to the local community, effectively narrowing the development gap between urban and rural areas within the Tarat constituency. — UKASnews
