New Tadika Juara Building Symbolises Commitment To Early Childhood Education

SERIAN: The construction and official opening of the new Tadika Juara Serian building reflect the continued commitment of various parties to strengthening early childhood education as a vital foundation for shaping future generations.

The Official Opening and Blessing Ceremony of the new Tadika Juara Serian building was officiated by Archbishop Dato Dr Simon Poh on Friday.

Also in attendance were Serian Member of Parliament Dato’ Sri Richard Riot Jaem, Bukit Semuja Assemblyman John Ilus, and Serian Division Resident Office Administrative Officer Esther Najoh, representing the Serian Divisional Resident.

According to a media statement from the SSFS Superior General Office, Tadika Juara, which has long served as a pillar of early childhood education in Serian, is now entering a new phase through the construction of an additional building aimed at providing a more comfortable, safe and conducive learning environment.

The construction of the new building block forms part of a fundraising initiative with a total target of RM4.80 million.

The foundation of the project was laid through an initial contribution of RM1 million from the Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR) in 2021, which served as a crucial catalyst for the continuation of the project.

In addition, the UNIFOR Welfare Trust Fund contributed by supplying furniture and kitchen equipment to ensure that the new building could begin operations without delay.

To date, the project’s Fundraising Committee has received strong support from the public, with a total of 274 donors contributing RM1,541,596.

Of this amount, RM330,000 consists of pledged sponsorships specifically for 10 classrooms, with each classroom sponsored by an individual donor as a direct investment in the development of early childhood education.

However, the project still requires RM3,258,403.99 to fully meet its fundraising target of RM4,800,000.00.

The remaining funds will be used to cover outstanding construction costs, related works and interior fittings.

When met by reporters, John Ilus expressed his gratitude for the approval of a RM1 million contribution from the Government through UNIFOR, even though the kindergarten’s original application had been for RM4 million.

He also shared his satisfaction at seeing the completed structure, which he described as attractive, comfortable and conducive to children’s learning.

“Plans to further improve the facilities will continue in the future, and the kindergarten is therefore requested to submit additional proposals and applications to enhance existing facilities for the comfort and well-being of the students,” he said.
