Integrated Administrative Centre to be built in Siburan for public convenience

KUCHING (Sept 23): The Sarawak government is planning to establish an Integrated Administrative Centre (IAC) in Siburan to provide convenience for the people and strengthen public service delivery in the district.

Deputy Minister for Transport (Air and Road) Datuk Dr Jerip Susil said the centre will bring together various government agencies under one roof, enabling the local community to complete official matters more efficiently.

“This facility reflects the government’s concern for the people’s needs. However, development success can only be achieved with close cooperation between community leaders, residents and the government,” he said.

Dr Jerip, who is also Mambong assemblyman, made the remarks while speaking at the Annual Prayer Ceremony and Cultural Concert organised by the Oh Ni Toh Temple Supporters Association here yesterday.

According to him, several public facilities, including a new health clinic and sports amenities, have also been made available to enhance the well-being of the community in Siburan since its elevation to a full district status in 2021.

He also stressed the importance of cultural and religious events as platforms to preserve traditions while strengthening harmony and unity among Siburan’s multi-ethnic community.

“Such celebrations not only preserve traditions but also serve as a bridge of unity that brings together the Chinese, Malay, Iban, Bidayuh and other communities in a spirit of harmony.

“I see the growing vibrancy of these celebrations each year as a positive sign of Siburan’s community development,” he added.
