KUCHING (Sept 19): More than 150 teams have registered for the Padawan Raft Safari 2025 on Oct 5.

The strong response to the event reflects its popularity and role in promoting Padawan’s eco-tourism and community spirit, Borneo Raft Safari (BRS) said in a press release.

“The Borneo Raft Safari 2025 has gained strong momentum following fruitful meetings with MPP (Padawan Municipal Council) and SRDC (Sibu Rural District Council).

“Both sessions were attended by councillors together with collaborating agencies including the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC), Civil Defence Force (APM), Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia, Royal Malaysia Police and Sarawak Rivers Board,” said BRS.

BRS said the focus is now on the Serian Raft Safari, taking place on Oct 25 as part of the Serian Carnival.

“During the SRDC meeting, councillors and agencies expressed their full commitment to ensuring the safety and success of the event. The Serian Raft Safari promises to highlight the district’s river culture, vibrant traditions, and adventurous spirit,” said BRS.

The press release said as BRS expands into a larger league connecting Padawan, Serian, and other districts, it continues to strengthen Sarawak’s position as a leading eco-adventure destination.
