KUCHING: The development agenda for Tebedu constituency will continue to focus on increasing the socio-economy of the people, said its assemblyman Dr Simon Sinang Bada.
He said ever since he was elected, many agricultural road projects have been implemented to help the residents, who are mostly farmers, develop their respective lands.
“It is our hope the agriculture roads will also lead to these farmers to eventually become commercial crop producers and improve their incomes,” he said at a meet-the-people programme at Kampung Bidak Plaman, near Serian, on Saturday night.
On a related matter, he said the constituency is now enjoying significant development as most areas have sufficient electricity and clean water supply, and are connected by tar-sealed roads.
Dr Sinang explained that this is the result of political stability that has enabled the Sarawak government under the leadership of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg to focus fully on helping to improve the well-being of its people.
He also announced the approval of RM130,000 to begin work on repairing the landslidehit area at Lorong 18 in Kampung Bidak Plaman.
Also present were representatives from the Serian Resident’s Office and Tebedu District Office, as well as community leaders from nearby villages.
