Ramadan Unites Community As Tarat Assemblyman Joins Tanah Puteh Residents

SERIAN: Ramadan continues to serve as a bridge for community unity as the Tarat branch of the Sarawakian United National Youth Organisation (SABERKAS) organised an Iftar ceremony and Bubur Lambuk distribution at Masjid Darul Amaliah, Kampung Tanah Puteh, on Saturday, bringing residents together in an atmosphere of harmony and brotherhood.

The event was graced by the presence of the Sarawak Minister for Education, Innovation, and Talent Development, who is also the Tarat Assemblyman and Chairman of SABERKAS Tarat, Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn, who joined the local residents to break their fast.

The organisation of this programme aims not only to enliven the month of Ramadan but also to serve as an important platform for strengthening the bonds between leaders and the rural community, in line with aspirations to build a united and inclusive society.

The programme featured a symbolic distribution of Bubur Lambuk to the residents before the congregation gathered to enjoy their breaking-of-fast meal in a modest yet deeply meaningful family-like atmosphere.

In the context of rural communities like Kampung Tanah Puteh, such programmes play a significant role in fostering social ties, encouraging the spirit of gotong-royong (mutual cooperation), and instilling the values of togetherness that form the foundation of community stability.

The distribution of Bubur Lambuk is one of the annual activities held by SABERKAS Tarat every Ramadan, serving as a mark of their ongoing concern and commitment to empowering the social agenda within the Tarat area.

Also in attendance were the Political Secretary to the Sarawak Premier, Damen Rejek; Deputy Chairman of SABERKAS Tarat and Deputy Chairman of the Siburan District Council, Cr Neuchlos Jub; Deputy Chairman of the Serian District Council, Cr Felix Kunyau; and the Village Head of Kampung Tanah Puteh, Mr. Semangot Seman. — UKASnews
